We are pleased to announce that, in addition to our established distributor Printing Systems, we have appointed Ukrainian Polygraphic Group (UPG) as a second specialist distributor in the country. UPG will also be our first distributor to serve the growing market in Moldava. First UK processless PlateRite 4300 install

UK B3 commercial printer The Print Unit has increased productivity by up to 25% by bringing chemical-free platemaking in-house. The company has installed a PlateRite 4300 supplied by SOS, with Trueflow 3 workflow and Flatworker imposition software but without a plate processor.

Pinetown Printers expands with Screen

Pinetown Printers in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, continues to expand with a recent upgrade from a Screen FTR 3050 and Tanto imagesetter to a Trueflow workflow management system and a PlateRite 8000II platesetter, including high-quality SPEKTA screening, full imposition, and digital inkjet proofing. South African Screen distributor Kemtek has worked closely with the company over the years as the company has evolved its operation into one of the most sophisticated in the region.

Spotlight: Spektacolor under the microscope

Simon Eccles reviews our new Spektacolor pre-press technology, which solves spot colour dilemmas for packaging: "Screen's Spektacolor technology in the Trueflow workflow promises to be a very important addition to Screen's growing range of pre-press production systems for packaging. By reducing or eliminating the need for spot colours, it gives significant savings in pre-press, make-ready and ink costs, as well as allowing greater flexibility in production planning by mixing jobs with dissimilar colour ways on the same run which can dramatically reduce or even eliminate the need for spot colours."

Fuji's first processless plate at Workshop 05

In a four-day event, hosted by Komori in October, visitors can witness the phenomenal 30 B1 plates/hr productivity of the PlateRite 8800 CTP system with the first UK demo of Fuji's first processless plate, the Brillia PRO-T. Attendees can view the PlateRite integrated with industry-leading MIS systems and multiple Lithrone presses in an automated CIP3/4 environment. Continuous workflow demo sessions demonstrating the whole production process, from JDF pre-press technology, to finishing will be running over the four days from 18th - 21st October, at the Komori showroom in Leeds, UK.


350 visitors at Kemtek's Open House

Much interest was shown by over 350 visitors from all over South Africa and neighbouring South African countries who attended the four days of Open House events at Kemtek's Head Office in Johannesburg recently. Kemtek used the event to show Trueflow together with an Epson Stylus Pro10600 computer-to-proof system, linked to a PlateRite 8000II. With 54 Trueflow systems and 50 Screen thermal plate recorders installed nationally, these products are market leaders in South Africa.


CTP launches at Print 05

Print 05 was a huge success this year with visitors keen to see our new CTP products, including the PlateRite 16000, the PlateRite Ultima 24000, the PlateRite Ultima 32000Z and our newspaper platesetter, the PlateRite News 2000, in action. Also on show were the PlateRite 4300, the PlateRite 8000II and the TruePress 344, which was shown for the first time in action with an IR dryer. Print 05 saw the debut of Trueflow 3.1. Visitors could also witness how the newest versions of the Rite family workflow modules within Trueflownet can help printers serve their customers better, faster and smarter.
