Tim Taylor joins Screen as Marketing Manager

We are pleased to announce that Tim Taylor has joined Screen Europe as Marketing Manager. He heads up our marketing team and will spearhead our communication strategies throughout Europe, Middle East and Africa. Tim has been involved with the industry for over 20 years including roles as International Marketing Manager at Linotype Hell (acquired by Heidelberg) and since 1995, as Marketing Director of Butler and Tanner, one of the UK's largest and most innovative printing firms. He has a wealth of knowledge and experience from both a manufacturer and successful printer's point of view that gives him a wide perspective on the industry and is ideal for his new role.

New product advertisements

Following on from Screen's European brand campaign 'as smart as nature', we have developed a new ad for those resellers that want to promote specific products. The new ad combines the benefits of Screen products with the strong Screen brand and can be tailored to your market - elements such as product image, text and company address can be changed. This new design will provide more consistency for ads in the European, African and the Middle East region. Four different ad sizes are available (A4, A5, A6 and a banner). PDFs can be downloaded from the resellers' section of www.screeneurope.com and in the short term all four ads will be also available via Screen's Riteonline. Screen customers on camera

This summer Screen Europe's Marketing Department, in cooperation with Screen in Japan, has started an international project to capture positive customer experiences on camera. All interviewed customers are VLF users or customers using special applications such as SPEKTA. European Marketing Coordinator Linda Hilberdink and Product Manager Rob Hageman have already interviewed and filmed Zwaan Printmedia in the Netherlands, MM Packaging in France, Fulmar in the UK and ESAG in Portugal. All these interviews have been compiled into an interactive DVD, complete with general company information. This is a great way to show prospective clients the benefits of Screen kit first-hand.

Bancolini success with open house...

Exclusive Screen distributor in Italy, Bancolini, in partnership with Recordgraf, welcomed approximately 300 people, representing 125 companies from all over Italy, to its Spring Open House. One of the main highlights of the event was the presentation to both customers and press of Trueflow 3. Showing productivity, consistency in file handling and multiscreening function, the quality and reproduction features were highly appreciated by customers and press alike. Bancolini and Samor Group were proud to represent Screen at the Expografica Exhibition in Rome in May which featured the full production cycle from pre-press to press and post-press. During the 3-day event over 300 companies visited the stand, with Trueflow and CTP generating the most interest. As a result, Samor Group were able to finalize four Trueflow negotiations shortly afterwards. For more info visit www.samor.com.


8-page success in Norway and Estonia

Screen PlateRites have seen great success over the last few months in Norway and Estonia, with high quality printing specialists T.S. Trykk and Haugesund Bok & Offset AS (HBO) in Norway, installing the 8600 with MAL and the 8000II with SAL respectively, both with Trueflow 3. Supplied by Coloro AS, both companies have now managed to accelerated their production workflows and further expand their customer base. Stamp and signage specialists, AS Stampline, in Estonia have recently invested in the Micra and Trueflow Rite to develop its printing division to its full potential. Installed by Graphic Metal in March, AS Stampline has now taken on more customers as a result.

Spanish success: first PlateRite Micra and 8-page duo

Cibergraf has been busy in Spain! Last month the country saw its first Micra installed at Qulumbiras in Seville, As a result, Qulumbiras streamlined its production workflow and increased its plate production by over 100 percent - now producing 700 plates a month compared to 300 plates a month previously!

Also a PlateRite 8100 and a 8600 were installed at pre-press specialists Focal and Record. Since installing these systems, both companies have now increased plate production to speed up customer delivery times.

Integraf streamlines its pre-press process
8000II

Integraf s.r.o., top-quality offset printing, finishing and bookbinding specialists near NĚchod in Czech Republic has recently installed the 8000II with Trueflow 3, supplied by Valido Pre-press, in its recently built 2,500 sq m state-of-the-art environmentally-friendly printing site. Integraf was keen to modernise its plate production and streamline its pre-press processes with the introduction of a new CTP package. As the company's first independently-owned platesetter and first workflow package they are looking forward to taking on more customers and more jobs as a result.

HGS holds Print City seminar in Moscow

More than 100 customers attended HGS' 3-day seminar in July, at which many Print City members presented their products and benefits. The presentations included MAN Roland's sheetfed and webfed presses, Screen's CTP and workflow, finishing equipment and UV printing solutions for packaging printers from several other suppliers. Entertainment in the evenings was well attended and enjoyed by all. The Screen presentation on the second day generated a lot of interest which shows that workflow and CTP are a hot topic in Russia's printing industry today.


Research: understanding digital production

Screen is working with industry consultants and publishers 'Digital Dots' to help more companies understand digital production technologies for print media. Along with several other leading industry organisations we are working together to develop the second edition of the Digital Dots Buyers' Guides. The first edition of this highly regarded series was published at Drupa and the second edition will be available at Ipex 2006. There are five Buyer's Guide titles in the series and all five titles include straightforward explanations of how digital production and print technologies work, their development and purpose.
